About
A boutique builder, deliberately small.

Clement Street, Cottesloe
Mike Schock
Schock Homes is owned and operated by Mike Schock, whose experience spans the full structural chain — estimating, engineering, manufacturing, installation and construction — built over decades through Formcraft, his structural systems company.
The model is deliberately boutique. One or two significant projects a year, chosen carefully, with the MD personally involved throughout. Around ten high-end homes have been completed or substantially delivered over the past five years.
Until now, every one of them came through referrals, architects and previous clients. This website exists to find a small number of the right projects — not a large number of enquiries.
Why Schock Homes
01
Structural experience
Decades across estimating, engineering, manufacturing, installation and construction. Structure is not a subcontracted mystery here — it is the core discipline.
02
Formcraft systems
Proprietary concrete wall and basement systems that make ambitious architecture buildable — and fast.
03
Speed to lock-up
A technically complex home enclosed and weatherproof in around six months, where comparable projects typically take twelve to eighteen.
04
Cost-plus transparency
Fortnightly reconciliations with supplier invoice evidence. The client sees what the builder sees.
05
Direct builder involvement
You work with Mike Schock directly, from the first conversation to the last day on site.
06
Selected projects only
One or two significant projects a year, chosen carefully. If we take your project on, it has our full attention.
The Formcraft construction system
Two separate companies. One owner. One structural advantage.
Formcraft is Mike Schock's other company — a structural systems business with around thirty years of engineering, manufacturing and installation experience. Schock Homes builds with Formcraft's proprietary concrete systems.
That relationship is what makes the structural ambition possible: reinforced concrete walls, complex wall geometries, basements, large cantilevers and unusual architectural forms that are difficult to deliver in conventional masonry.

For architects and design partners

A builder who can actually build the ambitious parts.
We work comfortably with client-appointed architects, designers and engineers — and can recommend trusted partners where a client hasn't appointed one yet.
What we bring to your project is buildability, not interference. We refine structural detailing, improve sequencing and make better use of the Formcraft systems — coordinated with you, properly documented, and without diminishing the architect's role.
If the design asks something unusual of concrete — a long cantilever, a curved wall, a basement that has to land exactly right — that is precisely the work we are set up for. And the structure will be up fast.
